Eeeek!
All copies of Oaths of Shadow arrived this afternoon! The poor UPS driver that had to deliver FOURTEEN boxes of books up my steep driveway...😅 (I ordered extra for Dragonsteel Nexus, which I am attending later this year).
I will be prepping them for spraying this week and will get them sprayed and ready to be mailed out by the first week of September!
In Audiobook news...
The narrator has recorded over half of the book and it should be done by next weekend. I have been listening to the chapters as they have been completed and OH MY GOSH! The way the characters are brought to life is even better than in Wounds of Ash (which was already amazing). 😍
We are so close to the finish line! :D Thank you all so much for your patience!

Hi all!
Here is an update on where things are at for rewards:
I have received everything for the Kickstarter other than the physical copies of Oaths of Shadow. When I received my author's proof, I went through each chapter and made any last edits it required. As of this evening, all the books have been ordered and should be arriving within the next week and a half to my house.
I spent this last weekend spraying all the special editions of Wounds of Ash and have them ready to go with their dust jackets.
While spraying, I decided to practice the design for OoS by spraying my author copy. looked really cool until I placed it next to a sprayed copy of WoA… The two designs don't mesh like I expected. Needless to say, I will be adjusting the cloud/smoke design and post another update with what I come up with. Check out the failed design below:
On top of the design issue, the vinyl I used to spray the clouds removed some of the paint on Oaths of Shadow. 😅 This is why I practice. 🫠
Despite the whole debacle with the design, my goal is to spray all copies of OoS over Labor Day weekend (the first weekend in September) and have everything packaged and ready to be sent out that week.
Lastly…the audiobook for OoS begins this week and should be finished by the first week of September! I cannot wait to hear the story come to life and will share updates with you about the process in the meantime.

Happy Weekend! I wanted to give you all an update on where things are at because things are happening!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Books:
Today was a very special day! I received the last art piece for the ebooks AND…the author proofs of Oaths of Shadow arrived!!! 😍
Isn’t it gorgeous?! I may have teared up a little while holding it for the first time… 😅
For those of you wondering about the thickness of these books… here they are side by side.
Unfortunately, I found a mistake in the acknowledgement section and a formatting error in chapter 40. I have fixed those but now have to re-upload the corrected file and wait the 3-5 days for it to be approved. 😅 Once approved, I can order everyone’s copies and start spraying!
Ebooks
Ebooks will be sent out tonight! You should receive an email from Backerkit about how to access your digital rewards. You can also log into your Backerkit account and find the codes for downloading your books that way.
All ebooks and audiobooks are being distributed through BookFunnel. (Yay for their new audiobook feature!) Your code for BookFunnel can be found in the digital downloads in your Backerkit account. If you need help, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Dust Jackets:
The dust jackets have been printed and were shipped earlier this week! As they are coming from China, I expect it to be another week minimum before they arrive. HOWEVER… I did get sent proof videos and pictures and they look amazing!
Stickers arrived in record time and are so adorable! Special shout out to my friend's teenage daughter who drew the Kirin with the Raven! Didn't she do a great job??? I'm obsessed!
Postcards:
The postcards and bookmarks arrived yesterday! I will begin signing them within the next few days.
Art and Overlays:
You voted, and Aliyah with Raynar was the winner of what piece should be commissioned. I received this today and am so happy with how it turned out!
With this final piece’s completion, I was able to order all the page overlays. I should be receiving them by next weekend.
Now I just need to order prints of the last three pieces of character art and the map of the world. I ordered most of the character art a few weeks ago and have them ready to be sorted once the final pieces are printed.
Shirts:
Shirts have been ordered, and I should be receiving them early next week!

Happy Saturday!
I just wanted to give you all an update on where things are at right now.
Physical copies
All of the Wounds of Ash physical copies have arrived (plus some extra I need for a convention later this year). My front room is getting full of all the boxes—and I’m pretty sure my mailman hates me as these boxes are not light! 😉
Oaths of Shadow has been submitted to Ingramspark. Once they send me the digital proof, I can get them ordered!
Dust Jackets
The dust jackets are currently being printed by my production partner in China. I have had wonderful communication with their team and I am hoping to receive the dust jackets by the end of July.
Artwork
Valery is just finishing up the last piece for Oaths of Shadow and has one more to do for Wounds of Ash. However, I can’t decide which scene I want and am going to let you all decide:

Honestly all of these are slated to be completed, I would just like to know which one the people want the most… 😉
Exciting news! BookFunnel (my preferred distribution platform for ebooks) now has the capability to distribute audiobooks! This means all ebook AND audiobook codes will be delivered via BookFunnel. Yay for no more Spotify!
Also, unlike Spotify, if I ever stop distributing via BookFunnel, you will always have your copy of the audiobook in your BookFunnel account. (For those of you who received copies of the Wounds of Ash audiobook from the previous Kickstarter, I will be sending you out a new link to download via BookFunnel when I transition off Spotify. Stay tuned for more info).
The Oaths of Shadow Audiobook is slated to start recording mid August. If you ordered an audiobook, you will receive your codes as soon as it is completed (hopefully the beginning of September).
Illustrated ebooks
Illustrated ebooks will be sent out as soon as the final artwork is completed (mid-July).
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed I sent out ARC ebooks to my ARC team. These are not the same thing as the illustrated ebooks and are a way for me to catch any final errors pointed out by trusted readers. I have received great feedback so far and cannot wait to send you all your official copies!
Shirts
I will begin ordering the shirts this week. Shirts will be sent to backers with their physical copies of the books.
CC and Surveys
If you have yet to fill out your survey, please do so now. Also, I’ve had a few credit cards not go through when charging them. If you receive an email from backerkit stating you need to update your payment method, please do so.
